Time traveling – my side of the story
Ah.. Finally.. ÂÂÂÂThe exams are over for this year, but we still have that imagine cup project. I’ve been planning to write this post 4 quite a while now, but Small Ville seems to have a “captivating†effect on me. LOL.. Now to some serious stuff.
Basically this is my point of view about time travel and its effects. Almost all of the time traveling stories (non freaky), including Heroes and some resent tv series speaks of dilemma were time is considered as a flowing river. If the flowing path is blocked time takes on another route. The following image will explain clearly. If P1 is the original time path and E1 event changes it (such as stopping the explosion in Heroes
) the new time line will take to P2 path.

But in more realistic aspect, if u take the actual travelling, its more related in to the travelers point. The actual “time travel†is the effect of reveres actions. Every action is coursed by a force of some nature. Imagine a falling apple (like Newton
) The apple falls because of the force of gravity. If a power 2x the power of gravity working the opposite way should work on the apple it should fall “upâ€, instead of down. If every thin had such opposite force effect it should create the illusion of traveling through time back words.
Now to the fun part.
If someone or some thin would change time what would be the effects of it? The usual theory is when the river is blocked the water dries out, or in this case cease to exist. But the basic problem arises, if the person cease to exists, who changed it? Take the following image. If a person in P1 time path goes back in time and changes it at E1 event, the new time would take P2 path.

But if the P1 path does not exists the person who changed should also cease to exist. Imagine a person going back in time to stop WW2. If he manages to stop it there would be no world war 2. If there were no WW2 there would be no reason for the particular person to go back in time in the first place. So who changed the past? In my opinion time is relative to a particular time and space. When a person travels through time to particular era, he or she becomes a part of it. Even if he changes the future he will not effected. That person would be a part of that time and place, an anomaly in the time-space continuum. This is the basic idea of my point of view. I’ll elaborate on this topic soon with much more details.
This is my idea, so it might not be the actual thin.

Who knows if time travel is a possibility in the first place?
If it were, I would agree with you on what it’s effects would possibly be. However, the logical sense of things is not always good enough for science fiction. That’s why you don’t see your sort of explanation in TV.
True..
But still TV shows should have more accurate description of things. Take star gate for example. If you’ve seen it, remember they had a GUI in their laps which can connect to all the devises of the ancients. (Ancients were the most advanced race, who created worm hole traveling.) I mean come on, the most advanced race didn’t have any protection to their systems? If they had one were they so easy to crack? LOL.. The whole story starts to suck when u see those loop holes. But these stuff do add a fun side to it doesn’t it?
Oh yeah, SG-1, Carter knows how to hook up… well, I mean with any alien device
I would say a logical explanation of things rather than accurate. You can’t be accurate with things that you don’t really know. I mean all these are fiction right?
On the other hand, if not for Carter’s instant interfacing, SG-1 might not have been as enjoyable as it was. Afterall, it’s just TV.

I personally hate it when movies have complicated explanations (like worm hole traveling) but leave out the simple ones.

So you hate SG-1?
Hate some episodes.. Not all of the explanations have simple answers. Some of them do have really good explanations.
Hello
Looks good! Very useful, good stuff. Good resources here. Thanks much!

G’night
machn did you stop bloging or what…
hey, if the time is relative to the perticular space, what happance at the incident,Big Bang a? according to your opinion, all the planats & galaxies & etc. happence to go back in time, do they?
i have heard that the time is just a concept
Hey Kulakshi, time is relative. It depends on the point of view. Take the famous Newton apple incident. The falling apple falls on the ground due to gravity. If there was a force which is twice the size and worked on the opposite path of gravity on the apple, the apple would go up the tree till the point of origin instead of coming down. From the apples point of view its like going back in time, but from Newton’s point of view it’s the apple fell from the tree and went back up, or a continues flow of time. But in reality it’s not just the force you have to consider. Every single molecule changes at any given time. All this change has to be accumulated and be reversed to achieve proper time travel.
