Dynamic DNS

As i promised before i’m go’na write about Dynamic hosting today. What is DNS? In simple form its a way to have a DNS assigned to a dynamic IP. Where you can have you web site running in you home. For in depth details on DDNS the following page will take you to the wiki.

DDNS on wiki

So read the wiki? Interested in going deep? :-) Lets start with where you can get a DDNS. Two simple sites that would offer a free service would be NO-IP.COM and DDNS.COM for furter detailed list please follow the following link.
List of DDNS service providers.

Now lets see what actually happens is that once you create an account they give you a URL and a program which will run in your machine continuesly updating there data base with you IP. So if any one types the URL the will get the IP of you machine. Now all you have to do is to run a listener to listen for incoming traffic. Just install Apache server on your machine. ;-) and now you got your own server. :-) I think… I didnt quite had time to test this, and will test it soon… Till then please try it out and tell me. :-)
